Alexandria Friends School (Quaker) was founded to serve students for whom other educational environments were not working. We have successfully worked with home schoolers who were looking for a few classes to supplement their home schooling. We have also served as a transition for home schoolers seeking to connect with their peers in a nurturing and safe environment. We welcome your inquiries.

The Mariners' Museum offers learning experiences for families and children of all ages. Throughout the year, families can explore the Museum's gallaries through special family programs, scavenger hunts and visits with costumed interpreters.

The mission of our organization is peace through understanding. Traditionally, our programs have taken American students abroad to cultural programs but we also have domestic programs. These programs are curriculum based programs that are hosted in D.C. and at many prestigious college campuses throughout the state, such as Harvard/MIT, Stanford, UCLA, U of Chicago, NYU, etc. Students attend these programs from all over the world, and they learn about leadership, community service, how to get ahead in the college admissions race, and if they choose, they can explore a specific career opportunity such as Business, Medicine, Law, Theater and the Arts, and International Diplomacy
