It pays to stay in school. Over a lifetime, a high school dropout working full-time will earn $300,000 less than a high school graduate, and more than $1 million less than a college graduate!
If your student wants to go to college this is an incredible resource that we just had to pass on: The “I AM THE ONE“ program for high school students offers tons of resources that will help students and parents prepare for college, plan financially, and explore the Virginia College and University system.
Using the free planning guide for students, I noticed that Virginia has changed some of the requirements for public schooled kids to earn an advanced degree at graduation. Not that this affects homeschoolers, but it is interesting information. There is also a free parent checklist that will help familes keep track of important deadlines and activities throughout the student’s high school career.
