VaHomeschoolers would like to thank our many volunteers during National Volunteer Appreciation Week (April 15 – 21, 2012). As the only state-wide, fully-inclusive, and member-driven homeschool organization in Virginia, VaHomeschoolers relies on the volunteer efforts of its members to meet the goals and needs of homeschooling families across the state. Our volunteers squeeze in countless hours of work as they juggle commitments to their families, sports teams, scout troops, drama groups, dance classes, martial arts tournaments, community service, church, grocery shopping, and more– plus educating their children at home and out in the world. Our volunteers write articles; answer helpline calls and e-mails; design and lay out publications; monitor pending legislation and meet with lawmakers; help educate school division personnel on homeschool law; develop conferences and seminars; staff exhibit tables; and perform a myriad of other tasks large and small. We appreciate you, volunteers, and we couldn’t do it without you!
Do you have a talent or skill you’d like to share with VaHomeschoolers? Or could you roll up your sleeves and tackle a job that needs doing? We’d love to have you join our dedicated group of volunteers! E-mail us at Volunteers@VaHomeschoolers.org.
