Christina Schweiss is a West Point graduate and retired U.S. Army Strategist who served over 20 years on active duty including deployments to Haiti and Iraq. After retirement, she started the nonprofit Hampton Roads Chess Association (HRCA), which brings the life benefits of chess to people of all ages and abilities throughout the region. In 2017, HRCA was named United States Chess Club of the Year. Christina currently holds the following positions: President of HRCA; Board of Directors, Virginia Scholastic Chess Association; Women’s Representative, Virginia Chess Federation; Ethics Committee and Scholastic Committee member, United States Chess Federation; U.S. Chess certified Advanced Chess Coach and Senior Tournament Director. She has two children who were homeschooled from 8th through 12th grade.
