The annual VaHomeschoolers conference is moving to the Ft. Magruder Hotel and Conference Center in Williamsburg so that we can have a larger vendor space as well as on-site hotel accommodations. We look forward to seeing you there!
Join us at the Virginia Museum of the Civil War for an exciting day of Civil War history! This event is open to all families seeking a day of fun, exploration, and learning. There will be hands-on activities for all ages. Join the Army and learn to drill, try dancing the Virginia Reel, enjoy 19th Century games and crafts, watch the Emmy awarding winning film Field of Lost Shoes, take a guided tour though the battlefield, learn about 19th Century foodways, and much more. Visit our partner agency booths and pick up classroom information about Valley ecology and history.
The special event rate of $3.00 per person is only available to those who preregister. Contact the Virginia Museum of the Civil War at 866-515-1864 for more information. Registration open until March 21st, 2019.
Triangle Rock Club loves to support the Homeschool Community and our visits include the necessary equipment, staff to belay participants, and two hours of action-packed fun on our 28-foot tall top rope walls. Those interested can use this link to sign up for one of these phenomenal visits. Please make sure participants wear close-toed shoes and active wear that a harness can fit over. Baggy clothing, skirts/dresses, and sandals/flip flops/Chacos are not recommended.
Enjoy a day at Montpelier designed specially for homeschooling families, or any family seeking a fun day out! Take a tour of James and Dolley Madison’s home, learn of the lives of the enslaved community by touring “The Mere Distinction of Colour” exhibit, take a hike in the Landmark Forest, and participate in numerous hands-on activities and tours throughout the day. This event is held rain or shine–in the event of rain some activities will be canceled or moved to alternate locations.

The Comedy of Errors
Two times each year, we offer specially priced student matinee performance dates exclusively available to homeschool families and co-ops. This full-day experience at the Blackfriars Playhouse includes a performance and actor talkback, lunch at the Stonewall Jackson, and a suite of workshops with our award-winning education team.
The museum welcomes homeschool families to Homeschool Days in April and May. The morning will feature several workshops where students will learn about the people, processes, and materials that create the built world. In the afternoon, students and parents will continue to learn with each other and have access to special activities, meet-and-greets with design professionals, and tours of the Museum.
