The Department of Education estimates that there were about 1.8 million homeschooled students in 2016. We are fortunate to live in a time when homeschooling is accepted as a viable, even desirable, educational alternative. It’s our time; it’s time to celebrate the freedom that allows us to provide the personal education on which our children thrive!

Keynote Speaker: Joy Hakim!

VaHomeschoolers is thrilled to announce that Joy Hakim, nationally known author and long-time educator, will be the Keynote Speaker at the 2019 VaHomeschoolers Conference and Resource Fair!

Joy, who has taught elementary school, middle school, high school, and community college courses, combines her first-hand experience and the skilled art of storytelling to engage students of all ages in The History of US and The Story of Science. Her love for teaching will not allow her to stop researching and providing students with resources that make learning fun. Her recent e-books include Free to Believe (Or Not) and Reading Science Stories.

Featured Speaker: Noah Scalin

Noah Scalin, an American artist and author, will present the featured presentation “Creativity Is a Practice” where he will show how becoming a creative problem solver and innovative thinker will positively impact every aspect of your life.
